Jamie Macfarlane

Jamie founded Creator Fund in 2019. When studying for his MBA at Stanford Business School, he saw how many of the world’s leading technology businesses were founded at US campuses. He believed that universities in Europe had the same potential. He has since scaled Creator Fund across 28 universities and built a portfolio of 25+ companies.

Jamie worked for media-focused VC Raine Ventures in San Francisco, and he led the Dorm Room Fund team at Stanford. Dorm Room were the first fund to pioneer the university-focused VC model. He serves on the board of Baseimmune, Loci, Turing Bio, Caeruleus, and Apian.

Prior to working in venture capital, Jamie was a political consultant and ran elections for leaders in 12+ countries around the world. This included successful campaigns for the Prime Ministers of Croatia, Macedonia, and helping lead the Cambodian Democracy Movement’s breakthrough 2013 election where they came close to toppling Asia’s longest lasting dictatorship.

Jamie was Director of Transformation at the world's largest communications group WPP. He opened their first office in Myanmar in 2013 after sanctions lifted.

Jamie has a Double First degree in History from Oxford University. He speaks Spanish.
