Suji BFR allows athletes to train and rehabilitate at home in a world where Covid makes going to the gym harder. Suji devices are used by Scotland rugby, tennis players including Jamie Murray and Johanna Konta, and the English ballet.
The device uses highly tailored blood flow restriction training to allow athletes to build muscle mass without the use of heavy weights. Suji allows anyone to do gym-intensity workouts without stepping outside the home. And helps athletes reduce the risk of injury, reduce joint and muscle soreness, and improve muscle performance. Founded by Heriot-Watt student and amateur Alex Birks, who created Suji to recover from his own torn ACL and broken tibia.
Creator Fund invested in Suji alongside tennis champion Jamie Murray and the Scottish Investment Bank.
